Babies & Early Development

Babies are one of my greatest loves — and a specialty of mine. Over the years, many mums have (kindly!) called me the “poo whisperer” for my ability to help fussy, unsettled little ones feel more comfortable in their bodies.

I know how it feels when you sense something’s “off” with your baby — even if no one else has been able to give you answers. You know your child better than anyone, and I’m here to listen, observe, and work with both of you to find a way forward.

Understanding Your Baby’s Development

Baby development isn’t just about ticking off milestones on a chart. It’s about why those milestones matter.

Why should a baby sit before starting solids?
Why is crawling so important for brain development?
Why do some babies seem to skip certain stages — and what does that mean?

Your baby’s brain is growing at lightning speed in the first years of life, and every movement pattern, reflex, and sensory experience is building the foundation for future skills. One developmental step leads naturally to the next, creating a flow of growth that supports movement, learning, and emotional regulation.

My role is to help you understand your baby’s unique path, guide them through each stage, and support the best possible brain and body development.

What Care for Babies Looks Like

We do adjust babies — but it’s nothing like an adult adjustment. The pressure I use is about the same as you’d use to press on your own eyelid. Every touch is delicate, specific, and tailored to your child’s age, size, and needs.

But care goes far beyond adjustments. We might:

  • Gently support muscle tone and movement patterns
  • Work on oral function, swallowing, and breathing patterns
  • Give you developmental exercises and activities to do at home
  • Discuss your baby’s gut and immune health
  • Talk through behaviours and what they might be communicating

Every visit is about connection. It’s about helping your baby feel more at ease in their body, and helping you feel confident and informed in supporting their development.
